I have discovered recently that despite the fact that I’m usually a very low traffic user when it comes to phone calls, sometimes (actually rarely) I engage and immerse in very long calls for prolonged periods of time. For example, tonight I had an over 80 minutes phone conversation with a dear friend who lives back in my hometown which is in another continent.

Then I have to continue working on my Final Assignment of the latest module class I have attended. This is due in 30 days from class date (now remains 19 days) to submit it along with a Work Book. Both items requires around 40-50 hours for FA and 20-30 for WB.
As you can see, I have to allocate at least 15 hours of deep work (requires Flow State – which we’ll talk about in a next blog.
Add to that, my usual daily professional career of 9-to-5. At 17:30-18:00, it’s sunset time! Not to mention that the 9-to-50 is constant where the sunset varies along the year! for example, it ranges from 17:00 till 18:30 from winter to hottest summer season.
And what about the gym? the family? the friends? the social networking and interaction?
Unfortunately, the answer is: NONE! or to be precise; near-to-none! How? Let me tell you:
- Family: None, except for my close relatives who live about 45-70 minutes of distance away so my visits are only on weekends and sometimes I skip two or three ones. I live abroad in a full-time professional contract basis.
- Friends: I have less than a handful of close ones with many second degree friends like professional social networking people, colleagues, old clients of teammates.
- Social Networking and Interaction: this one is far from none, I actively attend several types of events both physical and virtual. For instance, I’ve attended 1 international event abroad, 4 major local events and over half a dozen of workshops and seminars. All of this, only during previous 6 months!
- Gym: the best timing for me is the early morning (before office time) specially that i live 3-4 minutes waling distance from my office. So, I cannot allow any disturbance to my relatively early (23:00) compared to local norm in my city and among peers! Only this way I can wakeup maximum by 07:00 (completing an 8-Hours sleep), take a 12 minutes walk (and warmup) to the gym, exercise for 30-45 minutes then walk back home and still have time to take a shower, get dressed and be in office by 09:00.
As you can see, this lifestyle automatically assists you (without any Artificial Intelligence) to:
- Eliminate all what does not support and facilitate your personal plan realization from your daily schedule.
- Emphasize the idea of the “Spacious Weekend” which in my case I can spend easily 15 hours on a single weekend day on something of value to me like doing my MBA related work and studies, working on creating a passive income channel, finding the best partner and so on).
- Energize yourself and surroundings and have time & mental capacity to practice “doing nothing at all” which is a trending yet effective one that comes in different names like meditation, mindfulness, alertness and so on.
